Comino with its 3,5 qkm is the smallest island of that ones in Malta and lays between Gozo and Malta. Its name came from the cumin herb which was native here once. Now the whole island is bare, there are no settlements on the island, most of the people here are tourists around the Blue Lagoon which is certainly Malta’s nicest beach. |

| | Blue Lagoon is settled between Comino and the nearby island of Cominotto. The sea is here quite light blue – probably as it is shallow - and there are white sand everywhere. The beach is rocky here but if you swim across to Cominotto, you will find a nice sandy beach there. The only trouble with that is that there are nice big stones when you come out from the sea at the Cominotto side. The Lagoon is excellent for snorkelling. |
