Just sit & relax - Africa
Just sit & relax

When I’m in an African city, village or even in the bush. One of my favourite things to do is, just sit and observe. The local people doing their thing and I enjoy just watching the life go by. Sometimes you start a conversation with a stranger, sometimes you whiteness a discussion. You see smiles, you see tears, you hear the traffic pass and other times you enjoy the silence. You should try it, it will free your mind.

Mount Nienokoue - Africa
Mount Nienokoue

You don't have to be a skilled climber to reach the 396 meters high top of "Mount Nienokoue".
You'll only need a good physical condition to walk the rough terrain in front of the mountain.
Mount Nienokoue is located in the Southern part of Tai National Park, which has been a World Heritage Site since 1982.
When you're lucky you'll come across a lot of different forest animals.
Such as: Bongos, Chimpanzees, Forest Buffalos, Snakes, Duikers and I even saw footprints of forest elephants.
When you're on top of the mountain you'll see a sea of green.
So take your time and enjoy the magnificent views.
This is one of the largest unspoiled areas of rainforest remaining in West Africa.

Mount Cameroon Race (Race of Hope) - Africa
Mount Cameroon Race (Race of Hope)

This gruelling competition attracts competitors and spectators from around the globe. More than 500 runners battle it out to be the first to race to the summit of Mount Cameroon and back again. It takes place in the last weekend of January or the first weekend of February in Buea(southwest province). The course, covering a marathon length of 26 miles, is steep, exhausting, and unforgiving. The star of this endurance race is a woman called Sarah Etonge, who lives close to Mount Cameroon. She has been dubbed 'the Queen of the Mountain' as in recent years she has won the race four times in a row.

Scuba Diving

The Red Sea area/Egypt is world famous for its diving possibilities and in Hurghada you'll find all the opportunities to arrange a memorable trip.
Prices in Hurghada are reasonable and vary between 40 and 80 euro /dive.
There are many different diving schools but first check out if the one you choose is PADI licensed.
They have the right equipment and technical support.

Snorkling - Africa
Snorkling

When you're staying in Egypt/the Red Sea area(Hurghada) you should try a snorkel trip.
I don't think it is an unforgettable experience, but it is worth a try.
Most of the coral reefs reserved for the snorklers are destroyed by snorkelers, so don't expect to see the images you'll see on TV.
You'll come across large amounts of colourful fish and you'll see what is left of the once beautiful coral reefs.
A full day snorkelling trip with food and drinks will cost you 30 euros or more.

Equipment: included in the price

Directions: Everywhere in Hurghada you'll find travel agents who can arrange you a trip.

(Safe)Swimming - Africa
(Safe)Swimming

Swimming in Africa isn’t always evident as it is refreshing.
Always check if the water is free of bilharzia(terrible human disease caused by parasitic worms), bilharzia is common in the tropics where ponds, streams and irrigation canals harbor bilharzia-transmitting snails
