My Country's Capital

Capitol Building
I've been to Washington D.C. three times, all on business, for a total of seven weeks altogether. This was back in 1988 to 1990. Each time I went out in the evenings and on weekends to see as much as I could of my nation's capital city. I quite exhausted myself, but it was worth it. There are a lot of great places to see here. And hey, back then I was younger and could handle getting no sleep! ; )

Very interesting local custonm tip: South vs. North Mentality. Well, right that it's a thing of western, say 1/3 of the USA. Haha, I must visit the North now.

Jane, excellent D.C. page. The Yankee thing just doesn't hit us Westerners. In Canada they call us all yanks (lol). There is something profound about visting our national icons, I felt that way visiting Gettysburg. Kat

I never thought that Washington DC would have so much to do! In fact, I knew nothing about Washington DC, haha, but now I do. Great page :o) ~ Helen

Hi Jane, very nice page and nice pics! I suspect it has changed since I was there in '98 (post 911). Interesting last bit re North V South! In the UK we call all US citizens "Yanks" so there is no North/South differentiation at all!
