Nightlife Spot: San Vidal Church
If they're not on tour somewhere else in the world, go listen to a baroque concert by Interpreti Veneziani. They're great! Their repertoire includes a lot of Vivaldi, who was from Venice and is very popular here, and other baroque era music as well. They're a fairly young group - all men, when I saw them in concert. This picture doesn't have anything to do with them, but of course you can't take pictures during the concert.

Dress Code: Most people were dressed up a little, but it didn't appear to be required.
Directions: at San Vidal Church, very near the Accademia Bridge on the San Marco side of the Grand Canal

Do not miss this magnificent church. The artwork, history, and craftmanship are incredible. This church is included in the Secrets of Venice Tour which is well worth doing - a great walking tour! |
