Bebenhausen cloisters

Bebenhausen started out as a monastery, then became a castle and a hunting lodge. It was one of the first places I saw during my week-long visit with my sister, who is working in Germany for six months, and I enjoyed it very much.

This cloistered area is still referred to as the monastery. Don't miss going upstairs to see the ascetic dormitory of monk's cells - quite tiny and plain-looking. My cousin Brenda was with me on this trip and she gets credit for this picture.

The village itself has the traditional half-timbered houses I encountered all over Baden-Wurttemburg. Very nice looking. There's a good traditional German restaurant, too, where we had lunch.

What a surprise to see tiny Bebenhausen for the first time since my visit there 25 years ago. Interesting pages!
