"An Inside Look at Early America" Old Sturbridge Village by emilienoelle
Old Sturbridge Village Travel Guide: 38 reviews and 106 photos
Located in the central Massachusetts town of Sturbridge, Old Sturbridge Village is a living history museum of sorts, an entire town created to faithfully represent life in early 19th Century New England. It's a great place, a lot of fun for kids or for anyone who's into American history. There are a ton of things to do and see there. They hold special seasonal events throughout the year as well, everything from Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations to Fourth of July fireworks. On our last visit in April we got to see all of the newborn baby lambs! If you plan on spending some time in Massachusetts I highly recommend setting aside a day to visit.
All of the people who work at Old Sturbridge Village dress in early 19th Century clothing according to what their occupations are. They are very informative and have no problem with answering questions. Unlike employees at other living history museums though, the people at OSV are not "in character"--they don't pretend to be living in the 1830s.
Old Sturbridge Village is open from April to December each year. It costs $20 for adult admission, $6 for kids. It's $80 for a family membership, which allows you to get in for free as many times as you want for a year. Tickets are good for the date of purchase as well as for one additional visit during the following ten days. For more information visit their Web site: www.osv.org

Lovely page I enjoyed the tour!
Richie and I will be stopping here with the boys this Spring, they are all looking forward to it.
OK, curiosity got the better and I had to see what the heck Old Sturbridge was. Great into pic!! The ox art driver looks... umm... "happy to see you"? ...Or maybe there's a gun in his pocket? :D
Good page! You make me want to go back when I see that old redware sitting in the barn, and those lamb-eeees! the village is a wonderful experience for adults and for kids.
