panoramic of yazd
I have been in Iran twice and I really enjoyed the country. People is very friendly, and Isfahan and Yazd are lovely cities.

First time I visited Iran was in 2001, with Marc, coming from Turkey and going to Turkmenistan.

We visited Tabriz, Zanjan, Gazvin, Teheran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Yazd, Kerman, Bam and Mashad.

While I was in Yazd I get sick and in the hospital they were very kind with me.
Marc and I were invided by a nurse called mahmod to visit his home and his family.

Last year we returned to yazd to visit them. They are our "second family"

our friends in yazd

Here we are with mahmood, saeedeh, Sourush( Ali Hussein),Mohammad and hossein in a chaykhune located in the bazar of yazd
Aliqapu palace ( safavid era)

Esfahan, half of the world

Esfahan is one of the oldest cities in Iran, and was de capital of Persia from 1598 to 1722. Under the reign of Shah Abbas I, Esfahan became one of the most elegant cities in the world.
The most beautiful place in esfahan is the Imam square, where you can find the Bazar, Aliqapu palace, Loftollah mosque, and the friday mosque.

Great photos! Sounds like you enjoyed Iran (even if you ended up in hospital). I'm really looking forward to my first visit.
