Getting TO/AROUND: As you exit customs at the airport
you will be approached by many for
all sorts of type of transportation.

But if you pass them all,
upon exiting the international terminal
you will find to your right hand side
a both that says TAXI.

There you can tell them
where you will be going
and they will give you a paper
with the price of the fare.

Then they will indicate which taxi to take.
The fare has been set,
so no driving around in circles to rip you off.

So relax……..

hurry up!
I need a Tuk Tuk!

This open and risky means of transportation,
can be some what of a roller coaster ride.
They can swirl between traffic
while you breath in the carbon monoxide.
But what an adventure you will have!

Just be aware!
They can easily flip over.
But if you are willing to take a chance,
the price can be 40 B for an hours ride.

They will try to lure you to places where
thay can cash in on a commission.
So be on the look out.

Getting TO/AROUND: Forget about dealing with the Tuk Tuk driver
and his need of taking you for a ride
for a commission in his pocket.

Forget about taking a metered Taxi
who’s driver refuses to put on the meter
so that he can over charge you.

Forget about dealing with the bumper to bumper
traffic jams causing you endless stress.

Ride the Skytrain!
They are clean!
They are comfortable!
The staff is informative!
The Skytrain is just perfect!

Running from 6 am to midnight,
there are 2 lines and
maps are available at the stations.

You can buy tickets at the stations,
and change is provided.
Fares vary from 10B – 40B
depending on what station you plan to disembark.

Special tourist rates are also available:

10 Trips for 250B
15 Trips for 300 B
30 Trips for 540 B

Passes valid for 30 days only.

3 day tourist pass 280 B
1 day tourist pass 100 B

Student Card Passes are available.

Getting TO/AROUND: Good customer service,
or an understanding when
communicating in English
isn’t always an easy situation to find
in many of the travel agencies in Bangkok.

I was able to find a few travel agencies
that were more willing to help
and informed me of travel possibilities.

The first one I visited,
does most international and national air carriers,
along with hotels in various parts of Thailand.

The English spoken there was good.
And so was the hospitality.

Getting TO/AROUND: Right next door to Tevee,
is the Flying Travel Co.

Here you can find bus & train ticket rates,
domestic and international flights,
hotel reservations,
and plenty more.

We finally bought
our domestic plane tickets here,
since they had an additional
reduced rate to our destination.

Within an hours we left with tickets in hand
and a smile on our face.

There are a few other travel agencies
on the same street,
making shopping around easy to do.

Getting TO/AROUND: With the intense traffic jams
that are a way of living in Bangkok,
hopping on the back of a taxi motorbike
is definitely worth considering.

This is not for those that get nervous,
and only practical for those traveling solo.

But on the back of these motorbikes,
you’ll probably get there a lot quicker
than most other ways of transportation.
Depending on the distance,
it’s probably even more economical.

Just look for the guys
with the orange colored vest,
riding a motorbike!

Note It is the law to use a helmet,
and these will b provided by your driver.
To avoid using these bear headed,
(because you never know about head lice)
I do recommend that you
have a baseball cap to protect yourself.
