"On the way to Angkor Wat" Phumi Siem Reab by balisunshine

When one first enters
into the town of Siem Reab
one is left impressed by
the massive hotels/resorts
that have been built.

This is a poor town,
that has suffered in the past,
and very contradicting it is,
to see what has been left by
ambitious developers.

At the time of our visit,
it was the beginning of the crises,
which left us thinking,
will these hotels be completely filled up.

There isn’t that much to see in the main town.
The highlight of the area is Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat is truly an amazing jewel
of a civilization that used to exist.
One can easily spend 2-3 days
and maybe more, just wondering around
at these amazing temples built over 1000 years ago.
