| The Acropolis, home of the Greek Gods. | Oh you Athenai, city of Socrates, Plato, Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides, birthplace of humanism and the concept of democracy, sun bathed pearl at the foot of the Acropolis; living is your heartbeat and life your soul. The torch of your light will never faint - Jan JanssensYes, I agree, it is a very big town and, yes there is a lot of traffic and, again, yes a lot of time there is smog over Athens.... BUT... once you get to know the true Athens with its ancient history, its friendly people and its unique atmosphere, you will find yourself in heaven. If you think of seeing Athens in two or three days, don't bother because you will have been in Athens, but you will not have seen it. Do yourself a big favour and take enough time to discover Athens because, afterwards, you'll be very happy you did. You want to share your thoughts on Athens or you have questions? I'm just an e-mail away and euh..... don't be shy. |
