    • We had heard lots of great things about the legendary service at the Westin St Francis, so we were very disappointed by our stay there.

    We found the staff to be rude and difficult. At one point we had to practically beg for a safety deposit box, even though they were free to guests, because the receeptionist did not think our reasons for wanting one was good enough.

    Even though the hotel itself was not as good as expected (for a 4 star hotel) the location could not have been better. It is situated right on Union Square with Macy's one side and Tiffany & Co. on the other side and the cable cars stop right outside.

    Unique Qualities: Tour Desk and Hire Car Desk situated in the lobby.

     Those aircraft carriers are a city unto themselves. You have to wonder how they float, they're so big. My husband served aboard the Forrestal years ago.
