For so long we have watched San Francisco on TV (Charmed, The Rock etc.) and have always wanted to go there. One of the things we were most looking forward to was visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, probably because it is the first thing you think of when you San Francisco is mentioned.
It was as stunning as expected. Now everytime it is on TV we tell everyone that we have been to San Francisco and travelled across Golden Gate Bridge. |
| The Famous Fisherman's Wharf Sign |
| | Fishermans Wharf Another area we were looking forward to seeing was Fisherman's Wharf.
We had seen the Fisherman's Wharf sign so many times on TV and in travel brochures that we just had to take our own picture of it.
Lots of shops, restaurants and plenty to do. Most bay cruises, alcatraz tours, ferries etc. leave from Fisherman's Wahrf too. |
Alcatraz Tour The alcatraz audio tour was well worth the money (approx $22.00 per person). You are given an audio set and you follow the route for a commentary on each section and parts of interest. | | |

Looks like you had a wonderful trip. | Pawtuxet Sat Nov 6, 2004 22:42 UTC Those aircraft carriers are a city unto themselves. You have to wonder how they float, they're so big. My husband served aboard the Forrestal years ago. |
