| | Tenerife is not only the largest of the Canary Islands it also features the highest mountain in Spain, the Teide with 3718m. The North of the island is quite green and ideal for hiking, the South is more arid and has some decent beaches. I just had one week here which was definitely not enough. |

Bwana_Brown Sat Sep 12, 2009 13:44 UTC For some reason, ever since childhood I've always wanted to visit the Canary Islands. But wow, your photos of Tenerife nearly blew me away! The rugged majesty of both Pico de Teide and Caldera de las Canadas is stunning. Excellent tips here - thank you. | scottishvisitor Tue Jul 7, 2009 21:50 UTC Lovely page Birgit :) I enjoyed reading your updates = walking in the gorge sounds wonderful - but I can never get up early!! | mircaskirca Sun Jul 5, 2009 14:06 UTC Caldera de las Candas with its bizarre rock formations is impressive! I'd very much enjoy hiking there, as well in Barranco del Infierno. What a beautiful dragon tree and lovely typical wooden balconies! | septem Wed Jun 10, 2009 19:19 UTC Lovely pages and tips.
