Mahébourg is the major fishing port of Mauritius. It situated just a few kilometres from the airport, but as there isn't a beach, it doesn't get many tourists. It's a good base to start and end your Mauritius adventure.

Birgit, lovely little page about this gem of Mauritius. Especially your three accomodation tips are very helpful, although i must admit that I am not planning to visit Mahebourg in the near future.

It is surprising to know that express buses to Port Louis and Curepipe does not stop at the airport. Though categorized as an Express, it should have service to a very important point of the area for its clients' convenience.

Loved the Church such a pretty colour = this all sounds like a very relaxing place to visit
