Bangkok Hotel Tips by bijo69

Well, the main asset of the Royal Hotel is certainly its location close to the Royal Palace and Khao San Road. It needs a major make-over though, especially the old wing. New carpets and new wallpaper would be a great start!!! In our room they put some magazine clippings to cover the missing wallpaper parts...
There's a small pool, which is quite nice after long walks in the heat of Bangkok.
A hotel has a restaurant and a coffee shop with the charm of a school canteen. The breakfast buffet is ok though.
Staff is not always friendly.

The Thai hotel is certainly nothing special. The place probably hasn't changed much since its opening in 1962... Rooms are clean and the stuff is friendly and helpful though.

Forget about the pool. When I was there it was only half full plus it's just next to a busy street.

The location is ok, close to many sights in the old town.

This a simple budget place close to Khao San Road. Rooms are basic but have aircon and TV. Bathrooms are better than average in that price category and have hot water.
It's not the cleanest place though and staff if a bit indifferent.
There's a swimmingpool aswell, but I didn't check it out.
Single Room is 400 THB/night.
