SD Baby!

A little history.....

Mission bay park
I lived in SD for a year and a half, so I believe I'm able to give lots of info to interested traveler's and people who have just moved here as well. My mom still lives here, so it is like my new home.

Outdoor activities abound

Whether you like beaches, parks, or hiking in the mountains, all of these are within easy reach of SD. Mission and Pacific beaches are the livliest and most hip. Ocean Beach is great for the "hippie type" and is much more chill. For a look at the rich, a trip to La Jolla is a must. Parks I recommend: Balboa, Mission Bay, San Clemente Canyon. For a great view, hike Cowles Mtn in Mission Trails Park, this is the highest point in the SD city limits. Another must is a trip to the zoo, this is the best one I've ever been to!

Nightlife!

A bit limited compared to larger cities, there is still some cool nightlife in SD. The best area for bars, clubs, and restaurants is 5th Ave in the Gaslamp Quarter. The restaurants here are a bit expensive, but most have wonderful quality. For a more laid back night scene, go to Pacific or Ocean Beach.

Pros:"Lots of outdoor activities, clean, great weather, very laid back."
Cons:"nightlife is very limited, if you prefer big cities, you will find SD quite small."
In A Nutshell:"A smaller, cleaner LA with lots of outdoor activities"
