"Keetmanshoop and the Quivertrees" Keetmanshoop by Myndo

Keetmanshoop Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 17 photos

Keetmanshoop (the Hope of Keetman) is a small, not very remarkable village in the south of Namibia. It is a good place to stop over, fill up with gas, go shopping in the Spar, (yes, exactly like in Germany, right up to the folk music they play over the speakers..-I could have done without that.).

There is also a nice Cafe here, called "Uschis Kaffeestube" . It is mentioned in the travel books for good cake. I mentioned it more because it is also the name of my Mom...

So Keetmanshope is nice, but not special.
What is special in this surrounding is the Quivertree forest (or the 2) close by. This is a "must see" if you come through here.

Further South is the famous Fish River Canyon.

I should stop reading your Namibia pages - they make me want to go there too much!! Those Quiver trees have an amazing shape! Wonderful tips as always.
