Keetmanshoop (the Hope of Keetman) is a small, not very remarkable village in the south of Namibia. It is a good place to stop over, fill up with gas, go shopping in the Spar, (yes, exactly like in Germany, right up to the folk music they play over the speakers..-I could have done without that.).
There is also a nice Cafe here, called "Uschis Kaffeestube" . It is mentioned in the travel books for good cake. I mentioned it more because it is also the name of my Mom... |
| | So Keetmanshope is nice, but not special. What is special in this surrounding is the Quivertree forest (or the 2) close by. This is a "must see" if you come through here.
Further South is the famous Fish River Canyon. |
