Well I have to admit, Acadia National Park is one of the reasons I always get the wanderlust for New England in autumn.

The colors of the trees (the red! the yellow! the light green!), the often still warm temperature and blue sky, ... it is just the way a real autumn has to be for me.
So it is not to wonder, that i was there 3 times already.

And Acadia National Park is still my favorite there.

Acadia is located on Mount Desert Island. It is connected with the main land by a bridge.
Mount Desert Island has 5 villages. Bar Harbor (right next to the park), Seal Harbor (at its southern end), Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Brass Harbor and Bernard.

Inside the Park you have the Park Loop Road, which is mostly a one-way road.

Even if you don't have much time, go hiking there. There are different Trails of different lengh and difficulty.

One of the shortest and hardest is the Precipice Trail (see tip), an easier and longer one the Cadillac Mountain North Ridge Trail.
But there are at least 22 more.
