One big National Park from Swakopmund south to Lüederitz.
Located at the Atlantic Ocean but dry as a bone.
The highest sand dunes you can find on the world. (See Soussouvlei),
Diamond fields - unfortunately not for you to see..
You would think that such a stretch of dry land would be boring, but you are wrong.
Nowhere else the desert has such a wonderful face. The colors the dunes have in the early morning, the wide, open landscape, the plants (eg the miraculous welwitchia) and the animals that survive here... all this makes this a beautiful place in this earth. |
