Broome is one of the bigger cities in western Australia, but not really big.
Anyway I think it is a wonderful place to stay and you can do and see quite a lot.

- Go camel - riding at the beach at sunset.,
- Watch a movie in the "Sun Picture",
- Search for Dinosaur footprints at Gautheraume Pint -or if the tide is too high, just enjoy the landscape there,
- Visit the Japanese Cemetery
- Shop for Pearls or Souvenirs in Chinatown and Dampiers Tce,
- Go watch some birds at the Broome Bird Observatory (a little outside)
- Enjoy Cable Beach,
- Visit Broome Crocodile Park (Malcolm Douglas the owner is quite known through TV).
- Enjoy Broome!

We were camping in Broome and were lucky to see the Staircase to the moon which can only be seen a few times a year on a cloudless night and extreme low tide. Fabulous town :)

It is amazing how small and out of the way places like Broome can be so interesting! I had not realized that Aussie camels were exported. Your hostel sounds very nice and a great price too. Another excellent page Corinne!

I liked that, Broome for Beginners, which I am. learnt many things and Camel riding on the beach is one. thank you for sharing I enjoyed my trip

There's just too much to worry about for me to go in the water there. You didn't even mention the Great White Sharks!!! Blue Ring Octopus? Now that sounds scary! :O)
