Phuket Hotel Tips by Myndo

The Seapearl Beach Hotel is located on the southern edge of Patong Beach you are a little outside of all the "trouble".

There is the main road, though, which goes from Patong to Phuket that is at the side of the hotel.
If you can, I would advise you to take a room in the 3rd or 4th floor, then you won't hear the traffic.

A lot of rooms have nice views at the sea - although I did not need it, since we were out most of the day.

Unique Qualities: The rooms are clean, quite spacey and have TV, bath, fridge and air conditioning as well as a ventilator.
No bugs as far as I have seen (and I normally am the "bug magnet"). I heard of other hotels with problems with that.

The interior and entrance hall (as you can see in the pic) is high and airy.

You should not take your hotel baths towels to the beach, but you can get some for free for that purpose in the hotel.
The beach starts right in front of the hotel, just stumble over the street and you are there.
And yes, they also have a small swimmingpool, but why use this when you can go into the sea?

As in almost every hotel here, they also offer massages and making your nails or hairs - but I would go outside for that. It will be cheaper.

We booked this hotel, because the other ones we already have been in have been damaged by the Tsunami and were still in Renovation when we came here.

The hotel is located on the road a littlöe more in the back of Patong, but there is only a few minutes walk away from the beach, Bangla road and there are also many shops and restaurants in the area.

Unique Qualities: I was surprised how cheap it was and the first look was really good. Open Reception, friendly people, garden in the middle with swimming pool (not very big, but there), clean rooms, too.
So far so good.
Now comes what buggered me here. I would advise against this hotel if you are a family with children travelling or if you really want to get some rest in the night.
It was quiet enough what concerns the surroundings (no street sound or els), BUT the walls are thin and this is what we call a real "Bumshotel". Meaning every night we had to listen to our neighbour(s) having (loud) sex with prostitutes and such.
And I mean every night.
From what I heard of other guests we met it was the same in other parts of the same hotel.

I wish they would separate the sex-tourists from the normal visitors, but before they do ... well, I would not come here again.
I sure wish I could say different.

The On On Hotel in Phuket Town is Phukets oldest Hotel. It also became famous when the interior scenes of "The Beach" were filmed here.
Yes, here and not as it was later made to think in the Khao San Road in Bangkok. They also used the road in front dor some shots.

I think of this rather as a "must see" than a place to stay, and I never slept here, either.

Unique Qualities: Located in the old town of Phuket this hotel has a classical facade. Good location for exploring Phuket town, also there are Bus stops right in front.

49 Rooms, air conditioned or fan.
