Phuket, Thailand is by now a quite "common" place to go into your holidays. Even families with small children are discovering it now, and: why not?
The people a friendly,
The food is excellent,
there are really nice places around the island, from quiet to crowded,
and you don´t have to take extra precautions (well, except you are there for special reasons, what still can be seen).
But if you are not only here for sex (as most people are not), you can do quite some things:
- enjoy the beach-life,
- go snorkeling,
- go diving the wonderful underwater world,
- take day-trips e.g. to the james bond island, to national parks
- visit the temples (wats)
- go elephant-ridiing
- see the aquarium
- go shopping in Phuket Town
- Nightlife in Patong
- see the Butterfly and Orchids park
- watch a Snake-show
- visit the Crocodile-ranch
- enjoy all kinds of food (fresh fruits, sushi, indian currys, thai hot soups, italian pasta, us-beef, etc etc...)
- go to a Tailor and let them make you a suit or a dress or whatever
- dicker with the local traders

- Pros:friendly thai, good food, sun all day, ...
- Cons:Can be a little crowdy in some places (like Patong) and loud, too
- In a nutshell:Thailand for the common tourist traveller
