This page is actually an experiment. I will try and list some of the most used street scams and dangers you may encounter on your travels ... but also at home.

Some of them I saw or experienced myself. Others I only heard about. All of them are used everyday in many places all over the world.

This page is not meant to put you off from travelling or making you afraid of something. My only intention is to make you more aware of what is out there.

Keep your eyes open wherever you are. Especially as tourists we are very vulnerable, because our minds and eyes are on other things as where we have our belongings ... the sights are so wonderful, the city so different from ours... everything is just new.
... and you will always find people who try to make themselves an easy life preying on us travellers and tourists. Because we are easy prey!

Unfortunately these are all very true, I have seen quite a few of them. VT should publicise lists like this to make people more aware. We read of a scam in the Kenya Lonely planet- when it was tried on us we were able to spot it. Thanks for these.
