Hankone and Mt. Fuji

by llvalentin - last update: Feb 25, 2007

Where's Fujiyama?

A glimpse of Mt. Fuji
The day we headed out to Mt. Fuji was rainy and cold. The ride from Tokyo was smooth and our guide was very fun and informative. When we got there snow was falling from the sky and Fujiyama was nowhere to be seen.

At the fifth station

This is the last stop for all vehicles. The only way up is to hike on foot. There's a lodge area where you may purchase omiyage, but we went in to get warm.

I forgot what

this place is called. It has something to do with a peace act between several countries. Please drop me a line and let me know. We headed here after "viewing" Mt. Fuji. The area was beautiful and tidiy with lots of cherry blossoms in bloom.
