Welcome to Heidelberg, a beautiful German city sitting on the Neckar River in the Rhine-Moselle region of the country. The above photo is one of the most famous scenes from anywhere in Europe, and for good reason. From the walking paths on the hillside opposite the city, one has a spectacular view of the entire city, and especially the castle that overlooks it. Heidelberg was unscathed by World War II and therefore retains its original architecture and infrastructure dating back for centuries. |
