Great Metro and Tram system

While Prague is a very walkable city and this is the best way to enjoy it, there are times when transport is convenient and Prague?s metro and tram system are excellent. There are three metro lines and numerous trams that will get you very close to pretty much anywhere you want to go. I don?t know the frequency of the metro but we did not experience much waiting time anywhere and the trams seem to run about every 10 minutes during the day. Also tram schedules are posted at each stop. Prices are quite reasonable and depend on whether you buy a ticket that includes transfers and vary with the length of time they are valid. We found the best for us was a 3 day pass on both for 220 Kc or about $9. This allows unlimited rides and transfers on both the metro and tram. Most good city maps have the routes of both included so navigating is easy even for people like me with poor sense of direction.
