This restaurant is adjacent to the Hotel Wildner and is simply labeled "Ristorante" on the outside of its awning. It is conviently right down from the Piazza San Marco along the waterfront, past the large statue. The ambiance is lovely and the view of San Giorgio is lovely in the evening. It is nice to sit and watch people go by as you eat your dinner. The waiters are pleasant and speak limited English. There are two separate sections of the menu. One is the regular menu and the other is the tourist menu. I highly suggest not choosing from the tourist menu, you will miss out on alot of great food.

Favorite Dish: There were a number of dishes that were excellent. I mentioned the carpaccio of salmon, that was an excellent appetizer. One night I had the steak with this olive oil, garlic, red peppered pasta that was scrumptous. I liked it so much that I had that same meal the second night!! They also had a wonderful selection of Italian wine that complemented the food well.

If you have ever been to a Brek, you know what a retreat this place is from the rest of the exhorbant prices in Venice. Brek is a cafeteria style place that is great for those on a budget. There are many locations all over Italy, Venice being one of them.

The place is clean and the facilities are adequate. Food is very predictable from each location of Brek. It's a great place to have an inexpensive breakfast and lunch. Lots and lots of students and backpackers tend to fill the place up during all hours of the day.

Favorite Dish: The salads are usually fresh and paninis are great for breakfast. The pizza is pretty tasty too.

Thanks for including lots of useful details like opening hours. You obviously had a great time: it comes through in your enthusiastic writing.

I missed the Correr too but secrets tour in Doges Palace was great. Hope to see much more when I return next year for a whole week, staying on Murano.

Wasn't the Doge Palace fantastic?? We were debating whether we wanted to go in or not, and we were so glad we did!

"Magic" is the perfect description for this watery city! Great tip on the combo Correr/Doges' Palace ticket, I missed the Correr when I was there.
