Choco Train
I dedicate this tip to "VT Chocolate Lovers Club". Without you, especially the founder, shyjane, i never think of this interesting trip. And of course, to all of you non-choloate lovers, welcome to this Sweet-Swiss-offer. This is a day-tour starting from Montreux, Gruyerès, Broc and vice -versa.
Special mentioned:
I'm thanking the Golden Pass Homepage for letting me use this pic.
Harder Kulm captured at Carlon Hotel
Harder Kulm is good for travellers based in Interlaken and has lack of time for a long trail. You will experience here the most beautiful birds-eye-view of Jungfrau region. Has an altitude of 1322 m over Interlaken thus viewing the village, the lakes of Thun and Brienz. It is accessible with a funicular for only 8 minutes. It has a superb restaurant and a sun terrace which welcome every visitor, for a drink or even dine. At the top , you may take some hiking trail or just relax and admire the beauty of the region.
Address: Interlaken
Directions: From Interlaken's Höheweg(Mainstreet), head to Beaurivage Bridge and across the street is the funicular station
Mythen is one of the landmarks in the Schwyz region. It has three peaks and the Great Mythen is the highest among the three and a challenge for people who love hiking. The trail to this rocky peak from Holzegg is excellent but costing some sweats It was a steepy hike rewarded with some wonderful Panorama all around the surrounding areas.
Important Tip: avoid this trip on wet days, the track could be extremely slippery. There is a warning board on the beginning of the path...please read and be informed. It is recommended to take smaller kids on a rope.
Hoher Kasten, though situated on St Gallen Rheintal , is considered as one of the viewing point in Appenzellerland. It is 1,795 meter high above sea level. Has a 360° revolving restaurant and panoramic views.
A gondola is commuting regularly in 8 minutes up to the viewing point from Bruelisau. Good access for wheelchairs. Extra pulls (out of the opening times)are possible if reserved ahead.

Adults: (single ticket)) CHF 22/€ 13.70 (v.v.) CHF 36/€ 22.50

Freidensreich Hundertwasser has created and designed a project of his own at Lake Constance, but unluckily, he was no longer around as the building was realised on 2002. He died peacefully in 2000.
The building is located in Altenrhein near Rorschach closed to the Flieger museum. The works exhibited in the hall are faschinating including the projects from school children.
Gilded onion spires, illuminating colours, rolling lines, unlike windows, uneven floors, colourful ceramic pillars, shaded walkways and leafy roof surfaces are the characteristics of Friedensreich Hundertwasser's architecture. Take time to watch the vedios about his work. Don't miss the gallery upstairs. .

This is a santuary built in honor of the Virgin Mary who was said to have appeared in the 14th centry. Many devotees come here on Good Fridays and do the via crucis. It is located uphill of Locarno town which is very imposing. At the top, you will enjoy a breathtaking views of lake Maggiore and the alps. You can reach there by a funicular where the station is just close to the railway station. Feel free and see inside. No admittance fee as of our visit. I like its architectural designs.
The fare:

The highest exterior elevator of Europe according to wickipedia built by Franz-Josef Bucher-Durrer in 1905. It is an outdoor open lift at the vertical rock face of the cliff. A 153 meters high reaching the summit in less than a minute.
A magnificent mountain situated in the heart of Central Switzerland on the grounds of Kanton Nidwalden. It is 2867 ft above sea level, above the picturesque Lake of Lucerne. It is the midst of unspoiled nature, away from noise and trafic. A relaxing area which offers both non luxurious and luxury deals. Enjoy here the view of the Vierwaldstaetersee(lakes) and the majestic peaks of the alps that you could almost reach out and touch in very good weather. The panorama is just breathtaking. Walking and hiking trails is not of shortage. A must see!
Easy access from Lucerne with one of the boats to Kehrsiten then with funicular to the summit.
If you love arts of any kind , you may check and visit this place. This is 20,000 square meter
piece of land is owned by the Swiss artist Bruno Weber and his wife . I may say, the artist is the Swiss Gaudi inspired by his own . The park is very special to stroll around, dream a little and be amazed at what you see - mythical creatures, cast in concrete covered with glass mosaics . There are sculptures to be admired of, climbed on and even lived in. Our visit was a bit a relaxation as we toured around. The peacefulness of this inhabited forest, the fable figures soaked us into a dreamworld of fantasy.......
