Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan

Hilir Perak is a region you shouldn't miss while in Perak. This is the district where the mightly Perak River meets the open sea of the Straits of Malacca. Among the many interesting places to visit are Teluk Intan, the administrative centre of the district, rich in local and colonial history.

Teluk Intan was previously known as Teluk Anson, as an honour to Sir General Archibald Anson, who was called upon by the British Crown to plan the area and develop the town. It was through this exercise that many of the colonial and pre-war buildings of Teluk Intan were constructed.

Then there's the famous Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan, Malaysia's own equivalent to the world famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, a pagoda-style structure which is a timeless masterpiece.

Town Centre

The town is very small with some new shops surrounding the square of leaning tower. Nearby, there are one or two complexes and a few fast food outlets. Basically, the main attraction is the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan. Else, there's nothing much.
