Nightlife Spot: SHAMROCK IRISH PUB
This pub was special to me mostly because it was the first view of the bar scene in Thailand when I arrived from the airport. The pub was packed every time I went, which was a few times in my little stay in Bangkok. Drinks are reasonable in price and the service is not too bad. The food is good, and unless you are really hungry, stay away from the bagets, they are huge. My brother ordered one and it must have been a foot long and 6 inches wide. It was funny to watch him try and eat it thats for sure. He was only expecting a light snack, so he got more than he bargained for. The pub also has a pool table, which is usually full, and a dart board. If anyone is interested there is also a tattoo shop in the back as well. I will go back here if I have to stay in Bangkok longer than a day, it was a fun place to visit and it will bring back memories of my first visit. ****UPDATE****I did return here after one year and it was a different experience for sure. I was used to travelling in Thailand, as this was my third trip, and this made adjusting to everything much easier and I had a great time. I was more relaxed and had a better view of Khoa San Road this trip as compared to my first. I also had the chance to bring a first-time person (Gweenie) to enjoy this area with me.

Nightlife Spot: ROUTE 66
During my second trip to Thailand my ex-girlfriend suggested we go out to this place because it was close to our hotel. The bar was called Route 66 and it seemed to be quite busy both nights we went here. The bar is a split level area with tables and bench seats below and an upper open area where people can look down on the dancefloor and sit around the outside edge. They play mostly techo-house music, and have a bunch of screens all over the bar, which show anything from movie trailers to the people dancing on the floor. They also serve bar food if you feel the need, and it is quite tasty and cheap. We had a fun time coming here at night, as it broke up the site seeing pace set during the day, as well as gave me a different Thai experience. The main reason for this was the fact that out of the whole bar, I would be the only non-local person at times... talk about an eye opening experience.(but it was all good).

Nightlife Spot: HARLEY BAR
After spending some time walking down Khao San Road with VT memebers Tina(Gweenie) and Arjan (Armado), we finally found this bar. We were actually looking for the Reggae Bar, but it was too full of people to sit, so we walked a little more and found the Harley Bar. Both of these bars are located just off of Khao San, on a side street, but I can't remember the exact name. As you get closer you can hear the reggae music from both bars playing and then before you know it, you are right in the middle of both bars. The Harley Bar is obviously a tribute to the motorcycle of the same name, as there is lots of shirts, pictures, and a very old harley behind the bar. We ended up staying here until well after closing and I had a great time. After sharing a couple of cheap "buckets" and some Chang, it turned out to be a pretty good find, as I have never been here on any of my previous trips.
