My First Time In The City That Care Forgot

A House on Royal Street
{(a.k.a)A third grade vacation essay by Jess):P

alright. as the chapter title duly stipulates this was my first time in New Orleans and my first 'alone time' vacation.

I stayed in the french quarter and mainly did alot of wondering around. it was a pretty unproductive trip considering I had a to do and to see list about a mile long. ::grin::

I'm sad(or proud depending on who you talk to) to say that I hardly did anything touristy. I went to one museum, did two tours, saw a couple of plantations and made a brief stop in the garden district.

most days I just kind of wandered the streets aimlessly admiring the architechture, observing the locals and spending all my money on food and shopping....oh and took lots and lots of pictures as you'll see in my travelogue and tips.

let me know if you found my tips useful or like my pictures by leaving me a note or rating each tip.:) I'd really appreciate it.

Pros:"It's lazy, decadent and different from the norm"
Cons:"it's smelly, dirty, and filled with drunk tourists"

Hi Jessica, You didn't leave the name of the tour company you went with. Which tour did you go on?

Interesting stuff about voodooism. I once found my self 100 miles away from new Orleans during Mardi Gras, but due to my work situation, I was unable to go.. very frustrating! I will have to try again :)
