We flew into Vegas and purchased a 24 hour bus pass for $5 at the airport. The WAX (westcliff-Airport Express) bus runs a limited stop route from McCarren to downtown. This bus runs about every hour. While downtown if ya want to visit the strip take either the Deuce of the DXE (downtown strip express). The Deuce stops at almost each casino along the strip whereas the Express has limited stops and is much quicker. A 24 hour pass at bus stops are $7.

Too bad Jupiler Beer is not for sale in US

One morning I noticed a fellow walking with a can of beer open and another beer in a sack. The cops stopped him and told him he needed to empty the open beer. Later I asked a cop what the law was and he said any beer purchased at stores could not be consumed in public areas (on the street). However it is legal to bring drinks from a casino outside and walk with them. The ban seems to completely go away at night since almost everyone wanders Freemont Street at night with everything from 24 ounce beers to 1/5ths of Jack Daniels. These laws do not apply along the strip.

We stayed at Vegas Club for a very inexpensive rate. I had read many reviews about Vegas club and several were very critical of the place. However we were very pleasently surprised. the room was clean and very large. The elevator was a bit slow in the south tower but nothing major. If ya want to spend $500 a night go to the strip and knock yourself out but I prefer to save that money for other things.
