Getting to D.C

Capitol
On this trip we stayed 7 nights in NYC and 7 nights in Niagara Falls.
Since we had visited NYC the previous year we decided to visit D.C this time.
SO I booked a night at the Wyndham Resort Hotel and Coach transportation with Eastern Travel which was jsut $35 for a round trip.

We got the bus from Times Square infront of the Ernest Young Bldg at 8.00am and arrived in D.C at 12.00
Iwo Jima

Our First day in D.C

Since we had only one and a half day we decided that we spend the first half day at Arlington Cemetary.

Its very easy to get there by Metro and the subway employees are very very friendly and helpfull.
Arlington is huge so we opted to go to IWO JIMA and the Kennedy Memorial. We did this by foot and on the way we took note of the tombstones there. It was a very nice experience.
On our way back we went to Union Station for dinner.
Lincoln Memorial

Next Day in D.C

Since we had to leave D.C at 5p.m we took an Old Town Trolley Tour which shows you the main attractions. We picked it up close to the White House Visitor Centre and we were lucky to see the President with all his carcades coming out.

On this tour we saw Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, stopped at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial where we visited the memorial, Vietnam, Korean and World War 2 memorial and the Washington Cathedral.
