QLD - NT border

The Greyhound bus stopped here so that we could have a look around at the big empty nothing.
I love it so much, you feel so small and there's something really peaceful about it.

Look out the window

If you are driving your own car this shouldn't be a problem.
But on a bus you tend to fall asleep which is a shame. I found there was always something to look at, you can always look for kangaroos and emus. If you see a bush that moves - it's an emu.
I'm so fascinated with this empty landscape, I can't get enough of it!

Barkly Homestead - Australia

Barkly Homestead

Barkly Homestead

If you travel between Tennant Creek and Mt Isa by bus you can be sure that there'll be a stop at Barkly Homestead. It is good opportunity to maybe get some photos of the mighty roadtrains.

QLD NSW border - Australia

QLD NSW border

Queensland-New South Wales border

The NSW-QLD border is at Coolangatta-Tweed Heads. There paving is two different colours so that you can see excactly where the border is. - And stand with one leg in each state like we did.
Sometimes you don't need a lot to have fun.

pool in Wynnum - Australia

pool in Wynnum

Wynnum

Near Brisbane is the coastal town of Wynnum. Michelle had been here as a child when she visited her family so we had to go back and see. There's a pool that fills with sea water when the tide is in. So it is safer to swim there than in the ocean.
