I would love to be in Alice Springs in september for the Henley-on-Todd Regatta. It is a boat race on the usually dry Todd River. People race barefoot down the dry river bed in bottomless boats. Must be a sight to see.
Well I was there too late in the year, so instead I saw the old Telegraph Station (4 km north of Alice) where it all began, the view from Anzac Hill, the reptile show at my hostel.
And I saw a python in a terrarium in a pub in Todd Street (I think) eating a rat!

Hey! Great Alice springs tips and pics! (What do you mean with free night time reptile show? snakes crawling through your room ;-) They have many there, I met on right outside our hotel, too.
sky diving in Taupo is a dangerous thing to do !!
