It is a few hours by shuttle from Bangkok.
When you know what has happened here during World War II or have seen the movie this is very,very impressive....it made me very quiet anyway.
You visit the cemetary and the bridge itself and on most tours you take the "death train" over the Birma railway or as they call it ...the Death Railway.

Both in Burma (Mandalay) and in Thailand they saved about 100 km of the railway that was build by prisoners of war and the rest is gone.
At the part in Thailand there still is a train running which they call the Death Train.
You can get on and it iwll take you to Nam Tok station which is the end of the line.

Very nice place to go to after The Bridge on the River Kwai and have a rest,something to eat and drink and walk through the falls.
