Hello Everyone,
my name is Abi and...and...and....I have massive lips.lol.I dunno, anyway,it my first real "homepage" and i have absolutely no idea how to make it fun and interesting to visit so basically...here goes nothing.I am going on 22 this year, was born in Ghana to Nigerian and Ghanaian parents(yeah you need to watch out for me :) I'm nigerian...just like those naughty naughty email scams)Anyway, after I was born my family moved to lagos nigeria where we lived for about 4 years.We then moved back to Ghana , which became a more permanent home.I stayed there for 12 years , occassionally spending some holidays in nigeria or in the United States.During those years in travelled through togo, benin, lagos, ivory coast, holland, switzerland , the united kingdom ...and of course Ghana.Currently I am a student at Knox College in Galesburg , Il.Thats three hours south of Chicago for all you mainstreamers.I guess the larger reason for my opening this account is that I have just recently committed to studying for a year in Besancon , France, and I was looking for perspectives from casual travellers like myself. I went to google and typed such idiotically broad terms as "tourist" and "tourism"....and I found Virtual Tourist.Yipee!I guess another reason would be the fact that lately, I have found it more therapeutic to sit behind a computer an d type whatever I think as opposed to talking to real people.....of course what this does to my interpersonal communication skills , one can only imagine but I guess thats another story for another place.:)I am entirely mentally sound...I swear.lol.Anyway, this is all I can think of right now, so i'll just come back when I remember more.
:) Hi , so I'm back 3 days later.I remembered some more stuff about myself.I generally like to spend copious amounts of time doing silly things like looking at pictures of random cute babies online at 5 in the morning when i have 3 mini papers due the next day...y'know...enjoying the small things in life.lol.I have also found paradise ..I think.I stumbled upon this website a few hours ago, and if my computer were working I think it would be my webpage.Fineness does NOT get any better than this.Here goes :

OK , now back to travel, I would like to know everything there is to know about Besancon , where to visit ,etc etc.I would also love any kinds of tips on how to access African food over there.Thats the very root of my sustentance.I know its probably a stretch, but hey, I believe in VirtualTourist whootwhooot!yeah!ok, paper now.Update later.
Everyday I find a little tidbit that I want to add to my intro, and this site is beginning to look like my blog.Not Good.Anyway , I came accross some poetry today by Leopold Senghor , you know him right.He is a very accomplished Francophone African poet....and was a political leader in when most of Africa had just become newly postcolonial.I decided not to put the piece up because it is a bit dense for this site.However , here's a tip for you.I think you should all check out Leopold Senghor.He'll change your life...ah well ..maybe not, but he's a superlative poet. :) Thanks to all of you who have sent those really nice emails.The whole 'global village" thing is taking on new meanings with this website .I've got emails from Belgium and Singapore and Orlando....it really quite exciting.Seems like this introductory piece is going to be an ongoing thing....cos i cant remeber any more but i am quite sure there are some more things about me to be known.Ah well...I'll write them down when they come to me.:) Ciao!Oh and by the way...pictures from New York coming soon.
