  • A day tour along the Chao Phraya River can give you a glimps of how Thailand is like. Many of the historic sights of Bangkok lie on on the banks of the Chao Phraya river which is why it's such a great way to get around.

    Address: Saphan Taksin Stn., Bangkok
Directions: One of the piers at the end (Tha Sathorn) links with the Skytrain terminus, so even if your accomodation is away from the river, it's still within easy reach.

  • When you are on the cruise along the Chao Phraya River, you will discovered that there are alot of fat and huge catfishes near the Temples.

Local called these fishes god fish as they believed they will bring them prosperous and harmony. These fishes are put into the river by the local on special day like the buddha birthday in hope for a smooth and prosperous year.

  • This is a place where you would want to be miss. This place sell all kind of stuffs from flower, cloth, decorative to home use products. You can bargain with them for a better prices, if they wouldnt lower the price, walk off. you may find the same stuff in another stall with a much more cheaper price.
Recommend to go in the early morning as it will get very hot and stuffy when the noon comes. Somemore you can get better price too if you are their 1st customer as they want a good start for the day.

    HAPPY SHOPPING

Erawan Shrine: Pray for good fortune

  • "San Phra Phrom or Erawan Shrine was created as a spirit house connected to the Erawan Hotel, which has now made way for the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. The forces of the typical Thai spirit house didn't seem effective enough during the building of the hotel, so spiritual persons advised that it should be replaced with the four-headed image of Brahma or Phra Phrom in Thai. There have been no further hitches since then, and the shrine has became famous for bringing good fortune. The name Erawan comes from Brahma's thirty-three headed elephant."

  • This temple is make up of mulitcolour porcelain. You will get to this temple by boat or when you sign up on the cruise tour, this is one of the attractions.

In the temple, they sold buddha pendant which said to be make of the bricks from the roof of the temples. The monk in the temple will chant for you in order for the pendant to bless you. Well i not sure about the chanting part but i brought 1 for 2400baht which is US$58 for my mum.

Dyou really think you should be promoting shark fin soup, considering it is one of the main threats to the shark popluation today! Not to mention the compleatly inhumane way in which the sharks are de-finned, then tossed back into the ocean to die!
