Perhaps the
BEST PLACE in the whole of Armenia to buy souvenirs from.. Vernissage is a bazaar style shopping experience on a blocked off street where
ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS (SATURDAY AND SUNDAYS) people sell souvenirs and pretty much any type of Armenian Handcrafts one can think of.
What To Buy: PAINTINGS, CARPETS, EMBROIDERIES, WOOD AND STONE CARVINGS, METALWORK, ARMENIAN DOLLS, KHACHKARS FROM TUFF AND MANY MANY MORE ITEMS
What To Pay: Bargaining is accepted in Vernissage but sometimes a price a customer asks is clearly not worth the many hundreds of hours spent by the person to make the khachkar from wood or the backgammon.. Hence be fair in the price you ask to pay!!!
