Ummm.....slightly incorrect on a few things....Only metropolitan Melbourne gets a public holiday (Geelong gets the Geelong cup off). And the max crowd ever on Cup day is about 120,000

RAfi and Christine - next time come further down the highway to Geelong. We will show you some sights and sounds. We just had the Geelong Cup this week. Melbourne Cup is grand but have never seen the race, only the car park.

Yes Melbourne Cup Day is rapidly approaching once again & the hysteria is building up, particularly down south. Must get down there & see what the fuss is about one day.
