General Tips: Did you know about Australia's Camels??
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Favorite Thing: You may have heard a lot about riding camels in Australia's outback and you may have seen camel rides on the beach but did you know that camels are NOT native to Australia at all?? In fact, the population of wild camels in Australia has increased to such high numbers, the government has declared them as a problem.

In some reports, the numbers of wild camels roaming Australias northern territories are as high as half a million and they are said to be doubling in population every 8 to 10 years. The camels have become problematic not only in northern territories but beginning to have an effect in western Australia and Queensland as well. Amongst a few of the problems facing Australians and camels is their destruction of fences and tapping into water supplies of cattlemen and their diet of leaves and shrubs of trees may send some species of trees to extinction.

Australia brought over camels in 1920's from Afghanistan to aid with transportation but today, export of camels from Australia back to Afghanistan and middle east and Indonesia is likely.

We like riding camels and look harmless and sometimes cute.. Just stay away from their stinky breath though..

AMP Tower / Centrepoint: Lots to See Walking in the City
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Favorite Thing: When one's walking about the city of Sydney, there is always something that catches your attention.. Shopping at high priced boutiques or high skyscrapers or just simply watching people passing by you.. Walking is perhaps the best way to see the city so plan on spending a few days just walking in the city's popular areas be it the Opera House or the Darling Harbor, there is always to see around Sydney

Fondest Memory: Took this picture from George Street, walking about the Darling Harbor general area.. Had a lot of fun!!

Sight Seeing: What to take with ya
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: Casual wear does just fine for most places in Australia. So keep the clothes informal unless on a business trip. For the summer months from October to April, pack in lightweight clothes and always carry a hat and sunscreen with a high SPF in Australia, as the sun and UV radiation can get very intense. For the coast, an umbrella or raincoat is a sensible item to carry along and for inland and mountainous regions, you’ll need a lightweight sweater or coat. Winter months require heavier warm clothes and inland areas can get really cold

Sydney Harbour: New Year's Eve In Sydney
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: If you are ever in Sydney on New Year's Eve you must get a glimpse of the New Years Eve Firework display over Sydney Harbour. Its the most spectacular show ever seen. Thousands of people ( Locals and Tourist) gather the streets the to watch the show. Some even camp out the night before just to get a good spot. The Firework Display starts at 9:00 pm. There are various Hot Spots to see it, however the Best one is at McMahons Point.
