My Hometown-Warsaw (Warszawa).

The view for Castle in the Warsaw's Old Town.
I was born and I have been living for the whole life in the capital of Poland, Warsaw.
Let me tell you something about my town.

I suppose that you know that my city was totally destroyed during World War II. Even the Old Town was rebuilt from ashes after the War. The old people say that Warsaw before the War was a beautiful city just like Paris, Vienna or Prague. I know it only from old photos. Now we have a lot of monumental buildings in the centre which was built by comunist architects .We have a lot of housing developments with large number of flats. In Poland most people live in apartements not in houses but it has changed a lot since the fall down of communism.
Me and my husband Piotr live in a flat in the edge of Warsaw, very near the forest which is wonderful because we both love the nature and walks in the forest.

In Warsaw we have a lot of nice pleces for a walk, for eating, entertainment and so on. There are a lot of good restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs (I am not an enthusiast of clubs in fact), discos, malls, bowling alleys...

There is Old Town with King's Castle, Lazienki Krolewskie (it is a summer residance of last Polish king Stanislaw August Poniatowski with beautiful old park), Wilanow (the residance of famous Polish king Jan III Sobieski), a lot of nice art galeries, museums, cinemas, theatres. Near the Warsaw there is a Zelazowa Wola, the place of birth of famous composer - Fryderyk Chopin.
Near the Warsaw there is also a National Park called Kampinos which is one of the biggest national parks in Poland.

In Warsaw live 1 707 400 people.
In the whole coutry live about 38 230 000 people.

How are things in wonderful Warsaw? Spring arriving... we have too much rain right now. Many blossoms to cheer us, tho.
