Our first vacation in England, May 2002 | statue of Richard Lionheart |
Michelle and I visited England for our 2002 major vacation. Check out the travelogue for the trip.
I couldn't resist the picture of Richard Lionheart, my namesake. They have this picture right next to the Parliament buildings. |
| The Bodleian Library, Oxford |
| | Oxford, and other places of learning We visited Oxford for a day, and got a walking tour of several of the colleges. England has great colleges, and several great museums as well. The Bodleian Library at Oxford, shown here, was recently shown on film as the great hall in the Harry Potter movies. |
The architectural traditions England features a wide range of architectural traditions, dating back to the Roman times, and including the Tudor times, and the Georgian era, when the Empire was at its zenith. Buckingham Palace is a great example of the latter tradition. | | |
