Brief intro | I found this Heart in Lanzarote |
Lanzarote, earth of fire and salt, was declared as Natural reserve by the Unesco in 1993. It is well known as the Volcano Island too, because have more than 100 volcano around the island that create really extraordinary landscapes. Those traces turn Lanzarote island in an unique place.
Lanzarote, earth of wind and sun is ideal for relax and to practice acquatic sports. The sun is present along all year and allow people to enjoy the sea, the beaches and the calm atmosphere. Beaches as Famara, Papagayo, Orzola, Puerto del Carmen and Las Cucharas in Costa Teguise are outstanding for its beauty.
Lanzarote has warm people that take life easily and without any stress. Time seems to be stopped there.
There is something to be mentioned as well: the geniality of César Manrique, who did a great work in Lanzarote, has been rewarded along the Island. |
A bit of History In 1312 Lanzarotto Malocelo, a sailor from Geneve, visited the island of Lanzarote, that at that time was called by its inhabitants as Titeroy-Gattra. However, was in 1402, when Jean de Béthencourt arrived to the island at the service of Castilian crown and took possession of the Canary Islands. |
