Tel Aviv, a city with many faces

Tel Aviv: An emerging city

Past and Future. Photo by Gloria Urech
Tel Aviv´s eclectic architectural style reflects the many waves of immigrants: their dreams of creating the neoclassical grace of Vienna, ornate experimentation with Art Noveau and the minimalist lines of Bauhaus style.

In between this unlikely collection of buildings, the traffic growls, the cafés buzz with conversation and the working population goes about its frenetic daily business. After work and at weekends everybody heads for the city’s beaches, to swim, to surf or simple walk along the promenade.

Any person thirsting for a bit of history can venture slightly south to Jaffa, one of the world’s oldest cities steeped in biblical tales and mythology. A colourful artistic community blossom there today.

Tel Aviv also makes a convenient base for exploring the rest of the country; Ben Gurion, Israel´s main international airport is located nearby, while Jerusalem, for example, is only 30 minutes driving.

So, Tel-Aviv is cosmopolitan and the paradise of Art-Decó. It is the symbol of the most emerging city in Israel. On nights everything turns different with new lights, great music and places to chill out.

Facing to the Sea

Mundane and vital, this piece of earth close to the sea, the city with more inhabitants of Israel, is known too as "the city that never stops". In fact, its night life is plenty of nightclubs, discos and pubs with the music more trendy and in TOP.
To do not lose Tel-Aviv at night, I think it is important to know the coordenates of the trendy clubs. Towards Allenby Street you can find Joey´s Bar and the gay lounge-bar Evita as reference locals. Also there are four streets as Hayarkon, Ben-Yehuda, Dizengoff and Ibn Gabirol, plenty of pubs and nice restaurants.
