Ok, that is my dog Charlie not me in the main picture. She just happens to be more photogenic than I am. :-)

Growing up in a small town in Kentucky, I used to dream of traveling. I have been fortunate that in my job as a sales person I am able to travel extensively both in the states and abroad.
5 years ago, I was diagnosed with large cell carcinoma in my left lung. (Lung cancer) Having never smoked I called this diagnosis a head scratcher. (That’s when you scratch your head and say “Wow, I didn’t see that one coming!”
I was very luck in that after 10 surgeries, the removal of my left lung, 2.5 ribs, chemotherapy and radiation I am still able to travel 5+ years later.
Cancer imparts many things to many people, it left me with a deeper understanding in the necessity to experience new adventures and to realize that living in the past will ruin your tomorrow. I am in very good health now and even in better physical strength than I was as a 20 year old member of the 82 Airborne. I am also a little heavier and for some reason tend to get sun burned on my head now.
