The picture shows one of the streets of the Old City of Hebron. Jewish settlers have occupied the buildings on the upper floors and toss their rubbish down onto the Palestinian residents and shoppers (if any) who dare to walk along that street. This street leads to the Mosque of Hebron where the tombs of Abraham, Sarah and other members of that biblical family are found. Israeli soldiers - well-armed - patrol the streets to make sure there are no reactions to the insult and humiliation. The cameras of (western) tourists are tolerated but frowned upon.
The wire mesh was put there by the Palestinian and keeps some solid waste from hitting the pedestrians. Walking through refuse is unpleasant but walking beneath it is awful.
Now I am not naive and I have seen suffering in my life but I left Hebron with anger, frustration, sadness and amazement mixed together. I was appalled, as a human being, at the extent to which human beings can be cruel.

Thanks FL for trying to enrich my knowledge. I had already known what you wrote to me and I don't negate any of it. However my short visit to Hebron did really enrich my knowledge because there I saw what you don't want to say.
Just to enrich your knowledge: Syria & Jordan(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_September_in_Jordan) massacared THOUSANDS of Palestinians. Read what China did to Tibetan people& culture. In Hebron Muslems have full freedom of religious practice.
lets open the hearts befor the eyes,, is it really happen in the 21st century ... i am wondering what the end will be ,,,, may god support the palestenians
Your paragraph on "the meaning of injustice" is very enlightening to the real situation. You have done a great thing by opening peoples' eyes to the real truth. And yes, it is surprising what humans can do to their fellow human beings!
