Camping - To Be Closer To Nature & Woodfires :-) | Camping in the sand dunes summer 2003 by Harlech |
:-) With sunny days like this, where else would you rather be than on a quiet beach, watching the sunset over shimmering waters, whilst a wood fire crackles contentedly beside your tent - where later you will watch fire flies, the myriad of stars and make love with the gentle sighing of the waves on the sandy beach.
|
The Location - Llanbedr - Shell Island This is on the sand dunes by the small village of Llanbedr, near Harlech, in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park (North West Wales).
If you only have one day in Wales, make it in Snowdonia, the heart of Welsh culture & language, home to many celebrated castles, and a land unsurpassed in beauty, diversity, and romance. :-)

Prestatyn - North East Wales Beauty Prestatyn, close to the border with England, is one end of the Offa's Dyke Footpath (168 miles) in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - AONB, like a National Park. Prestatyn is often overlooked because it is between The Snowdonia National park, and the City of Chester - And because its near neighbour, Rhyl, has such a reputation as an ugly place (true). Prestatyn made me who I am, and I am part of the hillside above the town. Have a quick look at my home Great Orme, Conwy Castle and CarneddauIn one day here you can explore Castles, Copper Mines, Stone Circles, Prehistoric Axe Works, Victorian Seaside Town, Sandy Beaches and Mud Estuaries, Bodnant Gardens and Wild Moors crossed by Roman Roads. All on a direct rail line and motorway between London and Dublin. The cheapest place to stay is the comfortable Conwy Youth Hostel: http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/hostelpages/182.html Wales is also Cardiff, Castles, Magic, Mabinogion, Mountains, Museums and much much more ... like slate mines, little steam trains, lamb and lava bread, druids, welsh language and the Centre for Alternative Technology, at Machynleth.
From Llandudno and the Great Orme in the North, to the Gower in the South, from Llyn Tegid to the Mawddwch Estuary and up to Yr Wyddfa via Beddgelert - Wales is Magic.
