    Getting TO/AROUND: Coach services to Skye are excellent, with the CityLink heading daily for Portree and on to Uig (connecting with the ferry to outer islands).
    However, many travellers find themselves stranded in Portree, on a sunday, with no or a too limited local bus service to enable visiting the places they desperately want to see. Car hire is expensive,but they do much business for this reason.
    Your own wheels will be a significant advantage to most tourists.

    Getting TO/AROUND: Skye Bridge Toll is Cancelled

    The toll ended December 2004 - it is now free to cross the bridge.

    The ferry is still the best way to arrive on Skye - save the bridge for a quick exit :-)

     We fell in love with Trotternish during our last visits toSkye. This year, weŽll stay right there for three weeks in May . And we hardly can wait to start!

     I think your comments about the locals drinking too much are misleading, judgemental and pompous. Could you tell me what town in Britain isn't full wild and antisocial drunks late at night on a weekend? I think this problem extends far further than Skye.
