"My passion : Travel Photography" eagles_creek's Profile
I bought a compact digital pns in 2003 for a trip to Mt Kinabalu, the very first camera i ever owned (Canon S30)......& still does.....That opened my eyes slightly in photography.
In early 2004, i made my first solo trip to Cambodia and Thailand. I was hooked in backpacking.
In middle of 2004, i bought a film SLR from an old friend as a back-up cam to my Canon S30 for my Tibet trip, which unfortunately did not materialise.
What materialised instead......was my love for photography, esp Travel Photography. A passion which is in danger of burning till my last days on this planet..........
While the rest of the Chinese in Singapore are celebrating the lunar new year, i made my way to Thailand and Cambodia. To me, Chinese New Year is a period where relatives are "forced" to meet-up and endless stupid Q&As.
As such, i decided i'm better off celebrating on my own and had a jolly good time relaxing and partying at the beaches of Ko Samet, visiting the temples and floating markets of BKK, the magnificent Ang Kor temples and making new friends along the way.
I find myself packing my bags once again during CNY'05 and board my plane to Hanoi. Together with 3 other friends whom i had got to know thru the web in 2004 (we were suppose to go to Tibet together in 2004), we landed in Hanoi on the first day of Tet and board our night train to Sapa the very same night.
This is my first serious photography trip and i had hoped to capture images i'll be proud to call my own. Being a black and white lover, i had shot mostly in b/w during this trip.
I love Sapa alot! Hanging around in the market together with the Hmongs and shooting them gave me peace and happiness.
I'm just a simple guy.......
The colors of India begun wooing me after my return from Vietnam and wouldn't stop. Although b/w medium is my first love, i've decided to capture the colors instead. I know i have to go to get it out of my system, and finally in Sep......i landed in New Delhi by myself.
Having arrived in New Delhi late at night, i headed straight for my guesthouse without seeing much of the city. As i went for a smoke the next morning outside my guesthouse in Paharganj, i got a shock!
Messy, rundown and chaotic sights greeted me. Though i had read abt Paharganj, but nothing beats standing there in person.
Thru out my almost 1 mth stay in India, having visited New Delhi, Agra, Varanasi, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.....i must say i started getting used to the life and chaos on the streets that i find something amiss when i return to Singapore. Too clean, too neat......& too boring...........
India is still very much in my system........

You don't have to pay or purchase any burmese kyats at the airport anymore nowadays. YOu can always do your exchange at the AugSa Bogyoke market for better rate.
